Three Ways to become a Volunteer

1. Be a Mentor
   At the heart of our support system for Scholars lies a team of very powerful people who have decided to make a difference – one promising child at a time. They are referred to in many ways - mentors, coaches and the drivers of dreams. The Scholars will likely refer to them throughout their lifetime as the people who stood beside them – the people who believed in them – the people who helped them achieve their vision of success – the people who helped change their lives forever. 2. Serve on a Committee
   Provide leadership for the organization.
   Committees typically meet once a month and assist staff with the planning and execution of all Starfish activities. The Starfish Initiative welcomes new supporters to consider any of the following committees:
   
   • Mentor Committee
   • College Counseling Committee
   • Special Events Committee
   • Alumni / School Partnerships Committee
   • Internship Committee
   • Scholars Fund Committee
   • Volunteer Committee
   • Board of Advisors

3. Short-Term Volunteer Opportunities
   You can also help build a better tomorrow - one hour at a time.
   Since our inception we've been building our organization with the help of volunteers. We offer you the satisfaction of knowing you are truly making a difference in the lives of deserving young Scholars. We are pleased that there are scores of short-term activities from which to choose when you become a Starfish Initiative Volunteer.
