On March 11, Starfish Scholars were able to discuss their futures with 30 career representatives at the 2012 Career Fair: To M.D. or Not M.D. In total, 307 Scholars and Mentors spent the day at the I.U. Medical Center in Indianapolis.

The fair introduced Scholars to jobs related to the medical industry. But these weren’t just about doctors, nurses and dentists – it included jobs such as a helicopter pilot, CEO and a YMCA program director.

Scholars were able to discuss what it took to get those jobs, how it pays, and how it affects the delicate balance between family life, income and satisfaction. Junior and Seniors also had the opportunity to participate in mock interviews to help them practice their skills.
