“Failing to plan is planning to fail.”

That adage is something Starfish takes to heart and we want to make sure our Scholars start the school year off right.

This year, we began a new tradition with our Kickoff Nights for Mentors and their Scholars in grades 10, 11 and 12. The goal was simple – provide a plan outlining success. And do it over pizza!

Each Mentor and Scholar pair was given a grade-level guide, which outlined the year’s action plan, preparing for college, study tips and keys to other items important to gaining the most possible in the upcoming year. The guide was coupled with a quick and easy-to-use checklist specific to each grade level allowing the Mentor to track their Scholar’s progress.

As the school year goes on, we know our Scholars are planning to succeed.
